My Boys
My Name is Denise Carter and I have recently come back to school after over 20 years. I have two grown sons and when my company was sold, I decided it was time to do something for myself. I took a few classes over the summer, and decided to continue on.
My professional background includes a lengthy career at Ames Department Stores. I also worked for Joann’s Stores and a B2B Catalog Company called S&S Worldwide. About 8 years ago, I switched from the retailing segment to manufacturing. The company I worked for manufactured in the USA and overseas selling product to many of the leading retailers.
I am perusing a marketing degree and would like to transition my product development and retail marketing skills to more general marketing with a focus on social media, and communications.
My Biggest Inspirations
I help take care of my elderly grandparents and feel blessed to do so. I enjoy spending time with my 7 nieces and nephews. Two of my nieces model for me and are featured in my banner for the jewelry line I helped design. They keep me in tune to what’s going on in the youth market, and help me figure out all my electronic devices.
In my free time I enjoy reading, boating, motorcycles, and travel. I traveled a lot for business and have had the opportunity to spend a considerable amount of time in Hong Kong, China, and Taiwan. I hope someday to travel on a more personal level and would love to start with the Grand Canyon.
